Didier was very supporting and his parents, which welcomed us at the Apartment were very kind. We had to Change the Apartment before and he helped us out, so we didnt expect anything. The Apartment is very small but has everything you Need except a proper bed (just a Coach bed). With Little modifications (like to buy real coat-hangers or a hanger for the shower head..) you could really improve this nice Apartment. I am afraid to say the floor wasnt clean. We had to pay 25EUR for one time bed-linen and towels (we stayed 7 days) which is far too much I think. All in all it was okay but I wouldnt recommend it. The parents from Didier really enhance the whole Situation.
We had a nice stay for two in the studio. It was small, but clean and well equipped, with Wi-Fi. The hosts, in this case, the parents were very friendly and helpful. We were kindly picked up at the bus station and brought to the studio.
Pros: Good location, short walk to the beach (5min) and convenient transportation (public transportation) and very close to the Carrefour Supermarket.
Unfortunately was not told in advance that a deposit was paid, but we did get back without problems on departure.
I can only recommend this apartment and Nice is always worth a visit!
I found everything very great extent and the location was very nice, but the nights are still a little warm so it would be advantageous to have air-conditioned rooms in the apartment.
It is a nice flat near the sea. Everything is very close to the house. Didier's parents are very kindly, however they don't speak English. Everything was good, though there was only 3 blankets for 4 people. But it was hot in Nice when we were there so we wasn't cold. And Hungary played a very good football match with Portugal in Lyon at the EURO2016!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Éva from Hungary.
First of all, we have to say, that we had a pleasant week in Nice - also thanks to the flat.
- really kind and helpful hosts :-) merci bien
- little carrefour nearby and a bigger one only about 1 km further
- bus station nearby (app. 10 - 20 minutes to the center - depending where you
wanna leave the bus)
- bank nearby
- beach nearby and NOT crowded (mid July!!)
- flat is big enough for a family with kids, but there are only two double bed
- WiFi, TV, Radio, Washing machine, big frige, microwave.
almost good points:
parking situation (narrow parking slots and sometimes not easy to find any - even though we always got one)
coming from the sea, entry of the building is on the other side, but access through cellar is possible (climbing 2 floors).
elevator only from 1st floor (you need to carry up heavy stuff like suitcase or water one or two floors depending where you park and enter - cellar or base floor).
Generally we really liked our stay and can recommend it, if you don't need 100% comfort (but then, you should consider a hotel anyway ;-) )
Marc and family
Maybe the french standards are a bit different from what i`m used to, so this might be too negative, but:
150m from the beach? NO. The gate to the area might be some hundred meters from the beach, but once you`re inside you have to walk pretty far to get to the exact building.
Elevator? Yes, but pretty small. We had two babies whith babystrollers... didn`t fit in the elevator at all. It might fit two persons without baggage. And they have to hold their breath! I didn`t plan on carrying two strollers up and down many times a day when i ordered this apartment.
Internett/WiFi? Well...i could connect one time to the internett...and i guess i tried 30 times! We got some info about that Explorer could be a litte unstable, so we tried Chrome and Firefox too, but it didn`t work.
Family/kid-friendly? I`ve already written about the elevator. When we left the strollers downstairs because we should go to the apartment to eat some lunch, someone just put our strollers in the basement. We found a note in one of the strollers, but we dont know french, so i dont know what it said. I guess we could`nt do that. Carrying the strollers 4 floor up and down EVERY time we should get something was exhausting. But the area is quiet, that`s positive! There`s no playarea for older children. There is no babybeds or babychairs or nothing else for babies.
Outside the apartment: It`s nice and (most of the time) quiet, and there is a beautiful garden. But at our stay there were many people working on the garden and the pavement. They started early in the morning and the noice was so loud we had to shout at each other when we sat at the balcony. One time I tried to put the stroller outside so i could see the baby from the balcony when he was sleeping. (Because i guess i wasn`t alowed to put him inside downstairs...!) But it was so noicy my baby woke up.
Equipment: without maybe two paintings and a radio there wasn`t much in the apartment. In the kitchen we found some equipment, but i wouldn`t call it "fully equipped". For example there is no washingclothes or things like that. The glasses/plates and other things weren`t clean. The oven didn`t work. In the bedrooms there was one blanket in each room. In the sofabed there were none. Not a pillow either. So we slept with a towel on top!
Service: We got good service, but they only spoke french (The owners parents came to meet us when we came, and they also did the check-out) They didn`t speake a single word english. They were nice and friendly!
Clean: NO. In the closets and drawers there was hair and dirt. In one drawer there was used boxershorts and other mens wear!
So all in all:
Positive things: Not too far from the beach (But it`s further than 150m!) A quiet area (When the workers are done!) two big bedrooms, close to busstops, close to a little supermarket and a bakery, nice garden, nice balcony
Negative things: Not baby-friendly, no internett, not clean.
The apartment is spacious and finished. Near the beach. A 3km from Vieux Nice.
The asking price is absolutely great. Nothing to take in more.
L'appartamento è spazioso e rifinito. Vicino alla spiaggia. A 3km da Nizza vecchia.
Al prezzo richiesto è assolutamente ottimo. Nulla da richiedere in più.
We had a great stay at this apartment which was small but clean and fairly well-equipped with a nice sunny balcony.
Beaches are really close, so is the supermarket Carrefour and there is a bus stop just outside the door with good communications to the city and to the airport.
Very nice and helpful hosts made the stay even better and we warmly recommend a stay at this apartment!
Nice hosts, minor communication barrier: Only French, but there wasn't too much to discuss. Fast and safe WLAN-access directly available. The beach is really 5 minutes to go (just because 3 traffic lights to cross. Otherwise it would be less than 5 minutes ;-) )
The flat is really small, but ok to stay for a week even fpr 2 people. Anyway you wouldn't stay in the flat the whole day because: For 1,50 € you can take the bus to nearly every interesting town/city like Grasse, Cannes, Monaco/Monte Carlo, St. Tropez, etc.
The bathroom is small, but very clean and enough storage place for every woman's needs. Even a mature man get along with the bathroom. I only have to criticize the shower, because of the shower curtain (there should be a new one).
The flat has a kitchen, which is good, because Nice is expensive ;-) In the same building there is a Carrefour (Supermarket), over the way there are pizzerias etc. and a kiosk where you can buy stamps for your postcards! And - that's so great - the mailbox is also abreast.
Good travel connections here also mean that you HAVE noise. But that was ok for us, only for sensitive ears it might be a problem. You have many busses and they all can bring you to the important sights, cities and the historic city of Nice with the typical narrow alleys, high and nice coloured buildings. It's a must see!
