FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT:
From right outside the main entrance of the airport, you can take the airport shuttle bus called the AIRLINK 100 to Edinburgh City.
The Airlink 100 will take you to Edinburgh Waverley train station (Waverley Bridge). When you get off, walk up to the top of the street and you will be on Princes street.
Turn right and walk all the way straight down to the end of that road. You will pass the Balmoral Hotel (which will be on your right) and then arrive at a crossing with traffic lights. Cross the road at the lights and turn right and walk UP the bridge to the second bus stop in the centre of the bridge.
Wait there for a bus number 3 or 29 or 8 (if you are arriving after 11:30pm in the evening, wait for a NIGHT BUS - N3) to Gilmerton. Tell the driver you need to get off at the ALDI supermarket (after Liberton High School) on Gilmerton Road. When you get off the bus, on your left will be AVW MOTORS, cross the small road in front of you and we are the first house on the corner with black gate and green door. We are on the main road, directly opposite the ALDI supermarket. It will take approx 20 mins from the city.
FROM WAVERLEY TRAIN STATION:

The Christian Homestay is a very good opportunity to meet people from around the world. There were many rooms and a lot of people being around. Because of that it was kind of forwards and backwards to get a room. But I am glad that it worked. We (my colleague from university and I) got a big room. Not the one I was requesting for but that doesn’t matter. Everyone there was (and I am sure they still are) very kind and helpful and you can have a nice chat with everyone. There was also a fantastic feast on Sunday! The food they served was absolutely delicious and it was a real family environment.
Even if the breakfast time was pretty short, it was sufficient, we had everything we needed: Coffee/tea, toast, jam, marmalade, butter, fruits, milk and cornflakes. Sometimes there was also yogurt.
There were two bathrooms that were shared by all of the guests and often cleaned. Even though everything got long in the tooth a bit everything worked.
Bus stops are almost right in front of the house – perfect. And shopping facilities are also just a couple of minutes away.
We have spent 5 nights there. The rooms are clean. The best is the family that welcomes you from the start. They have a kitchen where you get breakfast there and tb you can use your microwave to heat up some dinner. The bus stops at the door and leaves you in the center.
Very friendly family. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was very compfortable! we had a great time!!! thanks a lot!! fully recommend!
It was a very rewarding experience, a very family friendly and we did not expect to receive such good hospitality. Truly amazing stay with breakfast and an experience I would repeat, shame that no wait time back to Edinburgh.
The furniture of the room was older and different from the furniture at the pictures. Besides that breakfast was very simple. Cost for parking was uncleared.
Also was the room clean and the family very helpful.
This homestay was not what I expected: minimal contact with the residents, the bedrooms very noisy (because of the thin walls), the lock on the door needed to be renewed, no window in the room, the primitive construction of electricity in the bathroom dangerous. Everywhere electric heaters. Do you like a 'continental breakfast' then there is only jam and no meat, no cheese, no eggs. Moreover, it is 'self-service' and no contact with the residents. I sat alone in the kitchen. For me, never at this address again! My advise: don’t book here.
Cosy, clean and comfortable room. Place is easy to find. Very nice and helpful owners. We are happy that we chose this place.
The room was clean and our hosts very helpful although we arrived late in the evening. Although the room was about 15 min from the town senter, it was easy to find due to very good instructions given to us by our host. 3 different buses alternatives and a supermarket just outside the house made the room very accessible and practical. We enjoyed breakfast time together with other guests in the common kitchen area.
