Reviews for this host's other properties
The apartment is beautiful, like "coming home", the location is great and Dennis an excellent host. Always happy.
Immer wieder gern.
The best apartment I have never seen. And Dennis is a great and caring host. I experienced Harlem for the first time and it is something special: the atmosphere, the people and the places around. What are you waiting for? Do not even think: book it if it is available!!!
Great Place! Great Host! Very close to Central Park and to the metro.
We had a very nice stay. The flat is just as it is on the pictures.
A place to be :o)
5 stars + +
First of all a HUGE big thank you to our landlord Dennis.
He really is a very nice and helpful person and has provided us with a super great apartment.
We were able to spend in this unique town 8 days with our son (7 years old) and have us safely thanks to our perfect accommodation felt very comfortable.
The rented apartment is located in an older home, has been carefully renovated and furnished with great attention to detail.
It's all absolutely identical to the pictures shown on Wimdu. In my view, it is even greater than it appears in the photos, in fact.
The equipment of this apartment is perfect to feel like a real "New Yorker". The kitchen is equipped with everything you need in everyday life, from breakfast to dinner, everything can be prepared.
In the bathroom, plenty of bath towels, shampoo, shower gel, etc. are available. The wireless works flawlessly.
The bed is very convenient to be able to walk relax nice after a long day of sightseeing can. The sofa bed is absolutely sufficient for a single person or a child.
The location was perfect for us as we were 116th St within 3 minute walk to the subway station and were able to get off 2 + 3 with the express trains in 10 minutes at the Times Square in the city center.
After a long day in the city we could each just off 116th St. Subway Station in Fine-Far supermarket to do our shopping.
The apartment is located in a side street where it is really nice and quiet evening. We have at any time felt safe in this area of Harlem and enjoyed our stay very much.
Should we visit New York again, Dennis is our first address!
An insider tip:
The best burger during our stay, we were able to take in the Harlem shake just 3 minutes' walk away :-)
5 Sterne ++
First of all: THANK YOU DENNIS! You're a great landlord.
This apartment was just amazing und we felt like home all the time. It's located in a pretty quiet area in Harlem with places to shop near by and the subway just right around the corner. Times Square is 10 minutes away using the subway - best location to start an exciting day in the most craziest and most beautiful city ever. I've been to NYC for a couple of times, but never had such a great place to stay.
The flat has a little full stuffed kitchen, a splitted bathroom (toilet separted from shower), a cute little dining area, a sofa, an extremly comfy bed and a huge - really huge :) - TV. Better then any hotel room!
Whenever you get the chance to stay at Dennis' place - go for it. You will not regret it. Dennis, I'm coming back in August/September 2014 - can't wait to stay at your cosy apartment again ... make me a good deal ;)
Oh and while you're there - go and get the best burgers and shakes in town at Harlem Shake! So delicious.
Very Nice studio And Great houst, Dennis. 5 star!!!!! Clean appartment And Cool design. Easy to go downtown with line 2 express. Short way to central park, Guggenheim. Harlem is exotic, Nice people, restaurants, bars And caffis. Will be back!
Guest room is so beautiful. Photo's are no fake. Pleasant host. Equipment (City Guides, Maps, Descriptions, etc.) where you can work with.
The studio apartment suited us perfectly. It looks the same in real life as it is presented in the pictures, and any amenities that you need are provided. We didn’t do any cooking but had breakfast there most mornings. There is lots of storage space and even though the studio is not huge it never felt crowded. Dennis has a great playlist on the music player which really sets the mood for the whole Harlem experience. The Wi-Fi worked really well.
The neighborhood is charming and very safe and people we met were friendly; e.g. as we arrived at the address we were welcomed by a passer by wishing us a pleasant stay, and people we met in the street often said hello to us. We never felt uncomfortable in the neighborhood regardless of the time of day.
Furthermore, it was very convenient to have the express train stop at 116th St, close to where we lived. The express trains (2 and 3) took us downtown or to Brooklyn in a short period of time. Especially after having wandered around for hours at an end it was great with the quick transport back “home”.
There are several markets nearby (we mostly used the one next to the 116th St subway station). There are a few restaurants a few minutes walk away – we especially recommend the Harlem Shake on Lenox/124th St – and just around the corner there is a nice place for breakfast, Café Latte.
Dennis is nothing short of the prefect host. It’s apparent how much he loves Harlem and he seemed to genuinely enjoy meeting guests from all over the world. Apart from the information booklet in the studio apartment Dennis was a great source of information on what to do, where to go and what not to miss, whether it’s your first visit to New York or if you’ve visited many times before.
We are so pleased to have stayed at 113 W 119th Street and would highly recommend any of our friends to do the same for a “real” N.Y. experience away from the tourist crowds. If you hesitate whether to book with Dennis or not, we’d say just go for it. You won’t have any regrets.
We spent 4 wonderful days in New York.
The studio is very clean and tastefully decorated. The nearest metro is 2 minutes which is a huge advantage after long days of walking to roam the neighborhoods of this beautiful city.
Dennis is a helpful host, who offers us "inevitable" in New York. We followed his advice and we went to the Apollo Theater in Harlem for the evening "amateur night", it was a great night, not to be missed!
We remember fondly our stay, with a hint of regret not to have remained longer. We will return with great pleasure in New York and in Dennis course!
Rachelle and Aurore
nous avons passé 4 jours magnifiques à New York.

I keep very good memories of our stay: Dennis is a very welcoming host, very friendly, available but respectful of our independence. The apartment is really quiet, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Possible improvement: the sofa in the living room, which is also the third bed is not very comfortable bed for an adult, but enough for a child or teenager. The area is really lively and friendly for visitors who want to avoid the madness of Times Square. This is a bird that woke me the first morning in New York!
I hope that Dennis was not bothered by the smell of cooking: the French sometimes need to prepare meals ... without using the microwave (we had not found the order of the extractor hood ...);)
My mind is still in New York and I think going back before too long.
See you soon
