Reviews of this property
Large bedroom in a nice terrace house. Clean, no traffic noise and quiet « neighbours ».
Shared bathroom but respectful use. Thanks for lending bath towels.
TV set but programs are globally, as quickly seen, the same foolish one’s as in France ! Advantage : english speaking :-)
Friendly welcome by Mark.
Well located regarding public transport and area.
We recommend. Nice weekend at London. (last one in the eighties for me..., will try to come again sooner, worth of it).
Nice room near everything we need (train station, buses, sainsbury's, ...).
Mark is cool and polite. The room is perfect for a weekend in London.
Lugar muy confortable y de fácil acceso. Mark es muy correcto y amable.
Lo recomiendo completamente.
The condition of the apartment were much less than I expected. You are informed before going that you cannot use the intercom but you need to call the guy to get the keys. When he let you come to the apartment he asks you to remove your shoes and to leave them in the entrance room, which would be acceptable but the moquet also in the room is quite dirty, lucky me that I had the slippers.
You come in the room which is very big and you look around and you see that the velvet curtain is orange on the down part and on the top is black because very dirty. On the bed the duvet cover, as you see in the picture, is black and gray also in a kind of velvet so you ask yourself if it was washed. I went to buy sheets and pillow covers because I had to sleep there for 10 days. Then he shows you the bathroom and he tells you that you need to leave always the windows open because he needs air going down to the lower floor, in the reality is because the smell of it with closed windows would be unbearable. The windows moreover has not a curtain so when you have a shower the neighbors can see the show. When I arrived he did not gave me a towel. The day after I asked for that and he looked at me really surprised. He gave me 1 only for 10 days, so I had to buy also that. One evening he cooked something and when I arrived at home the smell was so strong that I had to open the windows and I discovered that actually the windows can be closed but not locked, so you are leaving your things in the room and as it is at the first floor, someone can come in buy the windows... attached to the building door there was also a nice message:"On 3rd of October there was a theft in the building, please take care to close all the windows". The owner invited me to use one time his kitchen but actually I didn´t want to see how he lives.By the way the bathroom was clean and he also landed me an italian hair dryer so you need the adapter...ah I was forgetting in the bathroom he gives at your disposal all kinds of soap or toothpaste left from the previous guest, available in french, german and english language. Only shampoo is missing. He also gives you several little bottles of water, pringles and wine. A light burned out and he changed it immediately. he also gave me dishes and cutlery. The apartment is 5 min walking from the metro and there is a great Turkish grill restaurant close to the metro, coming out on the right. Also a lot of take away and market like tesko and others are along the way from the apartment to the metro. Personally I would not go there again or suggested to any of my friend. I like to feel safe and confortable when I go somewhere and the price was not cheap from my point of view. Anyhow I survived staying as much as possible out of the room ;-) Now you know all and you can decide what to do. Sorry Mark but your description of the apartment is not realistic.
